Each tiny piece is hand cut out of ceramic tiles, dishes, pots, bits, and pieces. Part of the process is the collecting of materials. I am a collector at heart, so I love this aspect of the art, scavenging junk stores, flea markets, dumps in cities far and wide. Neighbors and friends anonymously deposit beautiful broken plates along my fence or a chipped teapot wrapped meticulously in tissue on my front porch.

My studio is a site to behold. Shelves hold rows and piles of beautiful things waiting for their final destiny of a quick tap by hammer and then the repetitive process of cutting piece by piece. People look at my collection of materials and say, "Oh, you can't break that! It's too beautiful!" I laugh. I dream of earthquakes.

The images, symbols, and patterns come to me from ancient art, textiles, architecture, and my own reflection of spirit and passion. I have felt such pleasure and peace when I create, and I hope that experience comes across as you experience these pieces.

I welcome inquiries about custom pieces and installations.
